Traveling on the countryside. The villages are stretching along the roads as they did since Maria Theresia called in settlers from Germany to populate the areas devastated by the wars against the Turks. Here in the Vojvodina the soil is rich. Serbian, but also Romanian, Slovakian and Hungarian is spoken.

Many religions, orthodox, Lutheran or catholic, require many churches. The Danube region has always been an area where many different groups from different cultures have lived together. Who got the crazy idea to draw up borders?
